It’s Time to Get Our Shit Together!

Balancing a 9 to 5, 2 start-up businesses, my socials, helping plan a wedding, & navigating through my health journey has not been easy recently. I took a step back from my goals to cater to my 9 to 5 + life, & it has definitely been taking a toll on my sanity. When I was younger I told myself I’d never be that girl to just sit at a desk all day, I will be my own boss, but here I am. Going through an internal struggle between if I should just full send on my dreams or be able to pay my bills lol. As it’s half way through the year, I was reflecting on my goals I set for the New Year, yes I reached some of them, but I was still behind on a lot. Here are a few things that have helped me stay on track & balance a 9 to 5, while being a boss girly:

• Plan out your week every Sunday (meal prep, tasks to do, social plans, etc…) this has especially helped me conquer my brain fog & memory loss due to my meds. I use @notionhq to help me plan out my whole life. Notion offers templates for almost anything and everything.

• Use a habit tracker. Start making things that are needs on a daily basis a habit. I personally use @productive_app to track all my habits. I recently started seeing a holistic doctor and am on over 15 supplements. Habit trackers help me stay on top of all my supplements and when I have to take them.

• Prioritize self care. Go outside for a walk, get fresh air, do your skin care, oil your hair, read a book, watch love island with a friend, meditate, paint, etc… Do activities that will help you feel like less of a robot. Coming from someone who gets bored of the same routine very easily, adding self care activities will keep you sane, trust me.

• USE THAT PTO: if you really feel like you’re on the verge of a mental breakdown (I’ve already had three this week) TAKE THE DAY OFF SIS. No job is worth your mental sanity & happiness. Taking a day off not only from work, but from social media & life will help you feel detached from daily routines instead of making it feel like it’s your whole entire life. If you got more PTO, go travel, see the world.

• Get 8 hours of sleep a day
• Wake up early. This will give you more hours in the day.
• Implement a morning and night skin care routine
• READ. Reading more self help/positive mindset books that will benefit your mindset & goals
• Stay active. Hit 10,000 steps a day
• Repeat affirmations & manifest
• Surround yourself with people who align with your goals & add positive energy to your life. Stay far far away from EVIL EYE, envious people, attention-seekers. Energy rubs off & we don’t need that energy in our lives.
• Make sure to prioritize yourself & your mental health before anything else
• Optional, but beneficial: Therapy. Talking to a random person, who is a licensed professional, can immensely help your growth. Make sure to actually apply what you learn in therapy to your daily life to see results
• Lastly, take a day to do absolutely nothing and don’t feel bad about it. Progress and growth can only happen if you rest your mind, body, & soul

MY HORMONAL IMBALANCE JOURNEY ✨

Hi I’m Malini 👋🏾 I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2020. I was so confused why I was balding, could grow a beard if I tried, and gained about 35 pounds in 3 months. It was also a crazy time because we were so isolated from the outside world. I really didn’t know anyone else going through what I was going through. To add to my body rapidly changing, in 2023 I had to get my thyroid removed. My body would never be the same. Alongside, all the crazy unexplainable symptoms of PCOS I had to now deal with all the other symptoms of not having a thyroid. My body is still recovering and probably will for the next couple years. I have learned a lot about how to cope with my hormonal imbalance and I am still learning. I created this account to create a safe space for those just like me wishing they had someone to go to, understand what is happening their body, and share their story as well. And to know YOU’RE NOT ALONE. You would be surprised at how many people in this world actually have hormonal issues.

One thing that helped me immensely with getting my shit back on track is staying disciplined. Hormonal imbalance is not a temporary problem, it truly calls for a lifestyle change. You have to be willing to change your life around and completely focus on your mental and physical health. And it will take time, maybe even years to make that change. Motivation gets you started, discipline keeps you going.

Without pain you would never feel joy.

Ever since I was little a constant wish of mine was to stay happy. To feel joy constantly. I hated being sad or feeling numb. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. Unfortunately, life didn’t always go as planned. There were always dark periods, but it was the little moments that made it worth it. I learned without pain and sadness you would not be able to appreciate those little moments of just being high off life. Sometimes you have to let yourself just feel it all and when you look back you’ll remember all those good moments that still peaked through those bad days and got you through it.

2. TURN YOUR VISION INTO REALITY
• no one other than you is responsible to make your vision a reality. start implementing your goals in your daily routine. every month focus on a new goal.

Jan: Physical Health
Feb: Finances
Mar: My Business etc…
